Fernando Vela González, sworn translator for the English language appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2010 registered with the number 7764
Details of terms and conditions for sworn translations can be found below.
Handled by an expert translator, accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, a sworn translation is certified to be equivalent to the original source document. Called a “sworn translation” or a “certified translation”, once the translation is completed, it has the same legal value as an official document in the eyes of the Justice Department and Spanish or foreign administrative authorities.
In order to obtain the mention “translation certified to be conforming to the original”, a sworn translation must always be accompanied by a unique registration number, a stamp, the date and the signature of the sworn translator. A sworn translation can be requested for a number of types of documents: civil acts, scholarly, legal, administrative, work , sales, transportation, or even technical documents.
If you need a sworn translation of a document and would like to get a free quote, send the scanned documents in electronic format (see the section “Delivery”) to the following e-mail address: email@example.com.
The more information you provide to the sworn translator, the better will be the translation. If possible, mention the country and the authority you need the translation for: an academic institution, a government authority for the processing of visas or the recognition of qualifications, et.
The rate applied will be EUR 0,10 per word, with a minimum rate of 50 €.
Ask for a non-bindung quote for any document (birth certificates, academic qualifications, academic certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, criminal records, identity cards, visas, adoption documents, court judgements, judicial rulements, powers of attorney, expert reports, articles of association, statutes, contracts, patents, etc.).
Note: all rates include VAT (IVA). Quotes include postage for Spain and the European Union.
3. Submission of documents by the client
The sworn translator does not need the original documents to translate them. Never submit the originals. The client will send a scanned electronic copy (please, no photos taken with a mobile phone) of the documents to the following e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Make sure that all the text of the document is legible, otherwise the translator will have to ask for a new submission or the text may be marked as illegible in the translation.
The sworn translator will translate the documents and send them within two working days (for documents not exeeding 6 pages).
The payment will be made in advance by direct bank transfer or PayPal to the following accounts:
Account holder: Fernando Vela González
IBAN: BE24 9670 3172 6238
If you are not familiar with PayPal, you can check how it works here.
The translation will not be sent under any circumstances before the payment has been received.
Once the payment has been received, the translation will be printed, sealed signed and sent. The fares include ordinary postage for Spain. The delivery can be made using certified mail or other sending procedures at customer’s request, who will have to bear the additional costs caused thereby.
The translation can be picked up personally if the client does not want to wait.
Alternatively, it is possible to send by e-mail scanned copies of the sworn translation in a PDF file without any additional cost.
7. Additional copies
The fees include the postage of one copy of the translation printed, sealed and signed by the sworn translator. The client is free to ask for more additional copies at a rate of EUR 8 for each additional copy.
8. Data protection
The processing of personal data provided by the client will be carried out in compliance with the provisions of the Spanish Organic Law 15/1999 on the protection of personal data (LOPD). The sworn translator assumes that the client consents to the processing of personal data in order to translate the provided documents. Once the translation has been finished and sent, the translator commits to destroy all the automated files (magnetic, computerized and numerical support systems) and non automated files (mainly paper) according to the provisions of section 92.4 of the LOPD Regulation (Royal Decree 1720/2007).
In the event that the sworn translator makes any objective mistake in the translation, an extra copy will be sent within 24 hours at no extra cost for the client.
